On Mindset

MindsetAn interesting observation I have made in my life is how vastly different people can be.  This difference of particular interest is the varying degrees in which people approach to surviving and the success, or lack of, they experience.  Over the course of my life, I have encountered several different people, all of which live within a strict framework of “just how its done”.

A good example of this would be of my step father.  Without question he is a good person and a hard worker.  However, he always has worked blue-collar jobs and has only had enough money to get to the next payday.  His level of monetary focus is rather narrow: work extremely hard to make enough money to pay the bills and feed the family, and wait for the next payday to do it all over again.  Growing up, I never heard many entrepreneurial ideas from him or ideas in general of how to elevate above such a limiting situation.

On the other hand, I have met people who are extremely successful.  These individuals tend to work a lot less than my step father and are, in fact, not much more intelligent.  Well…maybe more intelligent in terms of self innovation and “street smarts”.  There is a significant disparity of success for them than others.

What is the difference I wonder?  As I have grown older, I have come to realize a significant variable: mindset.  Those who have more success tend to have a mindset build for success.  They do not have self-limiting beliefs or thoughts which hold them back.  Simply, they have enough desire to approach life in a way which allows them to dominate.  There is a realization where they know there is more than one way to skin a cat when it comes to this game we call life!

I hope to develop such a mindset affording me the opportunity to dominate in the realms in which I so desire.
